Teori Sosial dan Filsafat Politik



Teori sosial adalah kajian tentang masyarakat yang ciri khasnya mulai muncul dalam tulisan-tulisan Montesquieu, tokoh-tokoh sezamannya, tokoh-tokoh sesudahnya, dan mencapai puncaknya pada karya Marx, Durkheim, dan Weber. Awalnya teori sosial membangun identitas dengan cara membuat kontras dengan politik tokoh-tokoh zaman kuno dan tokoh-tokoh skolastik (schoolmen). Ada dua ciri pokok yang membedakan teori sosial dengan tradisi sebelumnya: pertama, berkaitan dengan konsepsi tentang tujuan dan metodenya sendiri; kedua, berkaitan dengan pandangan terhadap relasi antara watak dasar manusia (human nature) dan sejarah. Kedua aspek di atas cukup dekat, tetapi implikasinya terhadap isu utama pemikiran sosial masih dipahami secara keliru.

Tahun 2015 Asean akan makin bersatu dengan terbentuknya Masyarakat Ekonomi Asean di bidang politik, ekonomi dan sosial budaya. Ada tantangan dan peluang.

KTT Asean ke-20 sudah selesai dilaksanakan di Kamboja 3-4 April 2012. KTT Asean dihadiri oleh seluruh anggota yaitu: Indonesia, Filipina, Singapura, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar dan Kamboja.

A few days ago, a woman fled Singapore after posting some emotion-charged remarks on Facebook to which she received a stream of hostile feedback. 
The bone of her contention was what she deemed as noise coming from wedding parties held in public spaces, known in Singapore as “void decks”, under housing blocks.

Bashaer Othman; The Yougest Mayor in The World

Bashaer Othman has taken over the municipal offices of Allar in the West Bank hills as part of a youth empowerment programme 
  
She could have spent the long, hot summer holiday hanging out with friends or helping at home. But instead, 15-year-old Bashaer Othman is making speeches, signing documents, chairing meetings, attending civic functions and meeting citizens as mayor of Allar, a small Palestinian town high in the West Bank hills.
